My sales AI tells on itself when it has not done enough
There is a failure mode where an agent quietly does less and less and nobody notices until the pipeline is dry. So I built a check that runs every weekday at midday and messages me if my sales agent is behind on its sending.
A floor, checked at midday
The agent has a daily floor, a minimum number of real prospect emails it should have sent. A separate check runs at one in the afternoon, pulls the actual count for the day, and compares it to the floor. Midday is deliberate, because it leaves time for the agent to recover if it is behind.
If the count is under the floor, I get a message with the exact number and a nudge. If the count is zero, I get a louder alert suggesting I step in directly. If it is on track, I hear nothing, which is exactly how it should be.
Watchers that do not depend on the thing they watch
The key design choice is that this check runs on its own schedule, not inside the agent it is watching. An agent that has stalled cannot be trusted to report that it has stalled. The watcher has to be independent.
This is how you catch the silent kind of failure, the one where everything looks fine because the thing that should be complaining is the thing that broke. Build the alarm outside the system it guards.
The best alarm is the one that works when the system it watches does not. We build those. Reach out.
